Farewell

The Problem
Farewell had proof of concept from their initial MVP release that users were interested in meal planning and nutritional coaching. The product relied heavily on chat functions that customers were encouraged to use on their phones. But, their browser based experience was clunky and needed some TLC before it could be scaled to a native app experience.

The Challenge
My challenge was to translate their existing brand to a native iOS experience, that then had the design flexibility to be scaled to an Android app down the line (for this reason the development team built the app in React Native). I was also tasked with making improvements to the app based on learnings from Beta users:

• Users wanted to be able to increase the portions of recipe ingredients, so that they could cook for multiple people.

• Users wanted to be able to indicate to their nutritionist when they skipped a meal on their plan, e.g. dining out or eating leftovers.

• Users wanted to be able to make multiple recipes per meal.

The Outcome
An app that captured the brand’s look and feel while while incorporating Human Interface guidelines and met Farewell’s beta users’ needs.
